Organization

All Forms supports the management of a JROTC battalion structure.

Structure

The battalion is organized into several levels of leadership. Each level has a specific purpose and responsibility.

Battalion

The Battalion is the highest level of organization within the JROTC unit. It contains every Cadet, Company, and leadership position for the selected school year.

Battalion-level leadership is responsible for planning, administration, logistics, training, and the overall operation of the program.

Examples of Battalion positions include:

  • Battalion Commander (CDR)
  • Battalion Executive Officer (XO)
  • Command Sergeant Major (CSM)
  • Battalion Staff (S-1, S-2, S-3, S-4, S-5, S-6)
  • Battalion Color Guard

Company

A Company is the primary organizational unit within the Battalion. Each Company contains one or more Platoons and is led by its own leadership team.

The companies include:

  • HQ
  • Alpha
  • Bravo
  • Charlie
  • Delta
  • Echo
  • Foxtrot

Companies allow Cadets to be organized into manageable groups for leadership, training, inspections, and reports.

Every Company has its own:

  • Company Leader (optional)
  • Commander
  • Executive Officer (XO)
  • First Sergeant
  • Guidon
  • Motto
  • Mascot
  • Logo

Platoon

A Platoon is a subpart of a Company and groups together several Squads.

Each Platoon is typically led by:

  • Platoon Leader (C/PL)
  • Platoon Sergeant (C/PSG)

Platoons help distribute leadership responsibilities while keeping Cadets organized for training, formations, inspections, and daily activities.

Squad

A Squad is the smallest organizational unit within a Company and is made up of individual Cadets inside of a Platoon.

Each Squad is normally led by:

  • Squad Leader (S-LDR)
  • Team Leader (S-TL)

Squads are the primary level at which Cadets train, perform inspections, and participate in most day-to-day activities. Leadership at the squad level is responsible for accountability, communication, and ensuring each Cadet is informed and prepared.

Positions

Positions define each Cadet's leadership role and responsibilities within the battalion. Every position has a unique name, abbreviation, category, and assignment limit that determine where it appears in the chain of command and how many Cadets may hold that position at each organizational level.

The default positions are based on a standard Army JROTC battalion structure but can be fully customized from Tools. Position names, abbreviations, categories, assignment limits, and display order may all be modified to meet the needs of your battalion.

LET Level

LET (Leadership Education and Training) levels range from LET 1 through LET 4 and indicate a Cadet's year of participation in the JROTC program.

In most cases:

  • LET 1 - First year
  • LET 2 - Second year
  • LET 3 - Third year
  • LET 4 - Fourth year

LET levels are used throughout All Forms for reports, promotions, organization, and filtering Cadets.

Grade Level

Grade Level represents the Cadet's current academic grade in school and ranges from 9th through 12th grade.

Available grade levels include:

  • 9th Grade
  • 10th Grade
  • 11th Grade
  • 12th Grade

Grade Level is used for organization, reporting, and filtering Cadets independently of their LET Level.

Teams

Teams provide an additional layer of organization outside of the standard Battalion → Company → Platoon → Squad structure. A Cadet may be assigned to zero, one, or multiple teams simultaneously.

Teams are used to organize extracurricular activities, competitive events, leadership groups, and special assignments.

Each team contains:

  • Team Name
  • Logo
  • Motto
  • Team Commander
  • Primary Executive Officer (XO)
  • Secondary XO
  • Guidon
  • Sub Teams (optional)
  • Team Members

Team Membership

Cadets can be added to a team from the Assemble Teams or Manage Cadets page.

For each team assignment, the system records:

  • Joined Date
  • End Date

If a Cadet leaves a team, the End Date is recorded to preserve the team's historical rosters
